  • Commission staff liaisons host post-SSI conference calls with key institutional representatives.

Fall 2025

  • Core Leadership Group, Steering Committee Co-Chairs and members, and Working Group members are formally appointed by the Chancellor.
  • Working Group leadership (chairs and co-chairs) is established.
  • Campus-wide Self-Study Kick-Off event is launched.
  • MSCHE staff liaison preparation visit is scheduled.
  • Core Leadership Team attends the MSCHE Annual Conference.

Winter 2026

January 30, 2026
  • Draft Self-Study Design is completed and submitted to MSCHE staff liaisons.
  • Retreat is held with Steering Committee and Working Group Chairs and Co-Chairs to define the risk-management and CQI framework.

Spring 2026

May 30, 2026
  • Institution hosts the MSCHE staff liaison for the Self-Study Preparation Visit.
  • Steering Committee confirms the Self-Study design model.
  • Self-Study communication and information campaigns are fully implemented.
  • Working Groups begin formal risk-management analysis and CQI activities.
  • Working Groups send 2025-2026 risk management analysis report with recommendations and plan of actions for standard-specific expected evidence to the Steering Committee by May 15, 2026.

Early Summer 2026

June 12, 2026
  • Revised Self-Study Design is submitted to MSCHE staff liaisons.

Mid-Summer 2026

July 16, 2026
  • MSCHE staff liaisons approve the revised Self-Study Design and issue formal acceptance.

Summer–Fall 2026

  • Working Groups continue regular meetings, data collection, and CQI processes.
  • Evidence Inventory Committee assembles and organizes supporting documentation and evidence.

Fall 2026

  • Steering Committee oversees research, analysis, and reporting by Working Groups.
  • Campus community engagement activities are conducted (forums, meetings, updates).
  • Working Groups prepare annotated outlines and begin drafting chapter sections.
  • Core Leadership Group attends the MSCHE Annual Conference.

Winter–Spring 2027

  • Self-Study retreat is held for the Steering Committee.
  • Working Groups submit preliminary draft chapters for review.
  • Working Groups revise and submit final draft chapters to the Steering Committee.

Fall 2027

  • MSCHE staff liaisons send nominations for Evaluation Team Chair (by September 3, 2027).
  • MSCHE confirms Evaluation Team Chair appointment (by September 30, 2027).
  • Draft Self-Study Report is reviewed by the university community.
  • Draft Self-Study Report is shared with the Evaluation Team Chair.
  • Academic Senate, Administrative Board, and Chancellor review the draft Self-Study Report.
  • Institution hosts a simulated Self-Study site visit.

Winter 2028

January 31, 2028
  • MSCHE identifies vice-chairs and confirms no conflicts of interest.
  • MSCHE sends full Evaluation Team roster to the institution.

Spring 2028

April 28, 2028
  • Evaluation Team Chair conducts the preliminary visit.
  • Core Leadership Group prepares the final version of the Self-Study Report.

Fall 2028

  • Final Self-Study Report and all evidence are uploaded to MSCHE at least 10 weeks prior to the Evaluation Team visit.
  • MSC hosts the MSCHE Evaluation Team Visit (completed by November 17, 2028).

Winter–Spring 2029

  • MSC receives and reviews the Evaluation Team Report.
  • MSC submits its institutional response to the Team Report.
  • MSCHE Committee on Evaluation meets and takes final action on the institution’s accreditation status (Spring 2029).
